fire season is now open - permits required

All fires in the Village of Blacks Harbour require permits all year long.  Fire season in the Province of New Brunswick is now open (third Monday in April to October).  Prior to any burning in the Village, residents are required to call toll-free 1-866-458-8080 or by clicking here to clarify if the day is a burn day or if the day is closed to burning. Information will be updated daily during the fire season. You must have the landowner’s permission before igniting a fire on private land. There will be three levels of permission based on the weather and current fire conditions in your area. They are: Burn, burning permitted between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. and no burning allowed.

Once residents have contacted the Province of New Brunswick, if burning is permitted, residents are required to contact the Village Office to obtain a burning permit.
